holiday mini sessions in the seattle area

this mini session includes 20 minutes of shooting and five digital files (actually TEN, since you also get the black/white version of each!). you will be able to view 5-10 images in an online gallery within a week of our session, and then you will select the 5 you want as digital files. with these files, you can make prints on your own, create holiday cards, etc! think of all the gifts you can take care of with this one photo shoot! for more details or to book your spot, please contact me. we will have limited sessions available on each date, so don't wait!

i love referrals! they mean that i have happy, satisfied customers, and that is the ultimate goal! i developed a new referral program to thank everyone that sends a new customer my way. for each person you refer to me, you will receive a $50 gift certificate when that person books a session!! (please make sure your friend mentions your name when they contact me.) you can use the gift certificate to order new prints from a previous session, or you can use it toward a new session. gift certificates must be used within 6 months.

a beautiful wedding...

my gorgeous sister in-law got married to a fabulous guy this past weekend, and our little girl, stella was the flower girl. stella and sydney were mesmerized by the harpist at the ceremony... it was such a sweet moment. the bride and groom had a wonderful photographer, and i made sure to stay out of his way, but i had to capture just a few photos of this beautiful day. the groom's brother, ryan, is a very talented photographer out in tulsa, so check out his site as well!

okay, so technically baby makes three, but we can't leave out the two sweet doggies these guys have at home! this was my first ever maternity shoot, but there's a first for everything, right?!? (i am so happy with how the images turned out, and i hope to do more of these!) mama's belly is just perfect, and you can tell they are so excited about what's to come. i can't wait to meet this baby when we come back to richmond for christmas!

first birthday storyboards!

after designing a custom storyboard for a recent client (i'll show you that one soon...), i used a similar format to create these two storyboards that commemorate my girls' first birthdays. i used some of my favorite images from our cake smash sessions. the prints are 12x12 and mounted on 2mm styrene. i can't wait to hang them in our new house in seattle!!

go BIG with your prints!

do you think an 8x10 is big enough to stand alone on your wall? think again... an 8x10 is actually considered a desk print! of course, 8x10s and 5x7s look great when framed on a wall with multiple prints (more on that in another post), but if you are looking for a standalone framed print on your wall, go BIGGER! here is an example from a recent order. my client wanted a large print of her two beautiful children to display in her home, so she ordered this 16x20 mounted image. (anything larger than an 8x10 comes mounted on 2mm styrene.) i was so excited when i saw it, and she was, too... it really looks gorgeous! but check out how it looks when simply set on the mantle... it's really not too big and definitely not obtrusive in any way. depending on the size of the frame, you might even still need some other frames on the left & right to fill the space. and this is with a 16x20 print! can you imagine a teeny 8x10 up there all alone?

don't be afraid to go BIG! :)

this precious little boy is just 7 days old today! he put up quite a fight to stay awake, but once we got him asleep, he was out! his big brother let me take him outside for a bit, and we mowed the lawn with his bubble mower. i'm sure his parents appreciate the extra yard work... i'm a jack of all trades! :) enjoy the sneak peek...

i had so much fun at miners trail last night with an old (but very young!) friend and her family. we stayed cool in the shade and watched little baby b try to stand on his own with all his might. so sweet!

what a fun morning with this family! we've lived in the same neighborhood for 3 years and just recently met (and now we're moving...). seriously, i have never met a happier 6 year old little girl! :) one of the best parts of the morning was when mom and dad surprised the kids with the news that they were going to busch gardens as a special treat... so i had to capture their reaction on camera (the last picture you see here)... they were SO genuinely excited and it was really sweet to see that.

I am now offering storyboards as one of my print products. If you've never seen one, check out this example below from one of my recent shoots... (click on the picture to enlarge it)

Sweet Tyler just loved his sunglasses, so we got some fun shots of him running around Richmond with his shades on.

Storyboards come in all sizes 8x10 and above... we can do unique sizes and even squares if you want. I have them mounted on 2mm styrene so they are thick and long lasting. You can choose to frame it or display it on one of those small photo easels.

This little 16-month old was so sweet today! I haven't seen him since his photo shoot last year, and he is growing up fast. While his parents and I were sweating up and down the steps of Maymont Park :), he was content just being held and pointing at all the cool things to see. It was a beautiful morning and I had so much fun with this family.

We had so much fun this evening, chatting about the upcoming kindergarten adventure and learning how to smell the herbs in the garden. :)

I bring my portable studio to your house and all you have to provide is the cake and the baby! :) We leave the birthday cake in front of the little one and just see what happens... sometimes babies laugh and dive in and get all messy... sometimes they are shy or serious about it! Maternity Leave Update

I wanted to post an update about my maternity leave. I will not be booking photo shoots between April 15 - July 31, so if you are interested in having pictures taken this spring/summer, please contact me soon so we can schedule a date before or after my leave.

If you are expecting a baby during this time, don't you worry... I will still be booking newborn shoots (first 10 days of life) in June & July, so contact me if you are due this summer.
